We both love travel, history, art, architecture. nature, food, wine, and new cultural experiences. After years of visiting Europe - having never been assigned overseas during our military years - we finally decided in 2006 to stop just talking about living in Europe someday and begin to make it a reality.  It would be Italy.  We loved our visits there, and at the end of each trip we asked ourselves why we were heading back to the USA.

We did not want to live urban, but at the same time not too far from urban centers or easy access to the rest of Europe.  We wanted to find a quiet green place to purchase some property - not too much - but enough to feel connected to the earth.  The romantic side of us was also attracted to the idea of bringing an old derelict  stone farmhouse or other structure back to life.
